COVID19 NEWS
As of September 21st
Announcement by our Musical Director regarding the new rules on meeting Max6 and how it affects Band Rehearsals.
Rehearsals are temporarily back to a limit of 6 players
Firstly, the work being done by Brass Bands England (BBE) has found a way forward for amateur groups of more than 6 to rehearse together. That is fantastic news. However, Jane highlighted that ETB expects the church to be responsible for our activities (that is what was agreed when we started rehearsing again). Only when the Church of England guidance is aligned to the changes being made by Department for Culture, Media and Sport could the Church consider allowing us to meet in groups of more than 6.
As it is already the weekend there is no chance of either party's guidance being updated this week, it will more likely be next week. Until then St Mary's and St Michael's are not in a position to consider our request and it would not be appropriate to ask them to do so until the Church of England guidance is updated to permit us to have more than 6 in rehearsal.
I have contacted 6 players. Stuart, Philip, Simon, Sheila, Arthur and me. Please do not turn up until asked as it is now an offence for more than 6 to congregate in one place.
Please keep an eye on your e:mails for the weeks ahead. Both Jane and I are familiar with the C of E guidance and will know when it is updated.
The notice on the ETB Facebook page should be ignored. Normal practices are suspended for the time being.
Regards
Paul
