Good News the Funds have been raised for the Organ
Now raising funds for St Paul’s Church
One cause that we are supporting is the restoration of the Nicholson Organ in Irton Church.
Mr John Corran, who is 69, has cycled 3800 miles since the beginning of May to raise funds for the restoration of the 147-year-old Nicholson organ that he plays occasionally in his home church, St Paul’s, Irton, in the Lake District.

The Whitehaven News reported our very successful Taste of Brass event at Orgill Primary School

Taste of Brass was enjoyed by over 20 people (and the Egremont Town Band).
They all had a go at a Brass instrument, then finished by playing a piece actually with the Band.
a great time was had by all.
Special thanks to Helen Minshall from Brass Bands England for so enthusiastically performing.
Then Monday for Rehearsal we have had 8 new players sign up.

Taste of Brass visited 2 classes in Bookwell Primary School.
Years 4 and 5 enjoyed a workshop and playing some Brass instruments.
Then we visited Orgill Primary School
and 36 children had a Taste.

Great News, thanks to the generosity of Egremont when we were playing on Egremont Main St outside the Coop on Christmas Eve, today we’ve presented a cheque for £220 to the North Lakes

We're trying to encourage Music in this area. We are offering a Taste of Brass to anyone in the area to come and try a Brass instrument, have some free tuition and sample some music played by the band.
also free refreshments available.
Saturday 28th January, 10am to Noon at the Egremont Church Hall.
Brass Foundations will be visiting Bookwell School on the morning of Friday 27th January to demonstrate Brass instruments and let the children have a go at making Music.
Some members of Egremont town Band will be there as well to assist and demonstrate
